Sector Objectives
CO1
Protect and strengthen lifesaving maternal and child nutrition services for pregnant and lactating women and young children with infant and young child feeding in emergencies (IYCF-E) services, , micronutrient interventions, and maternal nutrition support

Improve equitable access to curative nutrition services through systematic and timely identification, referral, and treatment of acutely malnourished cases for pregnant and lactating women, and boys and girls under 59 months of age

Strengthening a robust, nutrition information system to improve decision making on needs-based programming.
Sector Activities

Provide facility and community-based one-to-one counselling on WHO recommended Infant and Young Child Feeding and maternal nutrition practices

4W for nutrition sector/cluster Support adherence to the Breastmilk Substitute Standard Operating Procedures for Whole of Syria

Provide Micronutrient supplementation to pregnant women and children

Provision of specialized nutritious food (LNS) to children 6-59 months meeting the sector’s vulnerability criteria

Support improved Dietary Diversity of pregnant women and children 6-24 months with Cash based transfer (CBT) or in kind support.
