Bentiu town, Unity State, South Sudan. Children find comfort in flood waters relieving themselves of the severe heat. The 2021 floods in Bentiu submerged houses, destroyed livelihoods and heightened disease risks. Continuous heavy rains, combined with controlled water releases from Lake Victoria in Uganda, have significantly raised Nile River levels, threatening to further flood Bentiu. OCHA/Liz Loh-Taylor
